I obtained a degree and moved the route! I simply implemented so that I just sort of dropped it, and Jagex seemed more fun than others. The principal challenge I face is I have to OSRS gold constantly prove that I got the job based on my skills and not as a”diversity hire”. Not everybody thinks it sinks my confidence a little and that, but some folks like to make jokes.
I started playing with Runescape 15 decades ago after finding it amongst the likes of Stick RPG and Motherload on Miniclip. Throughout a game design degree I have back to Runescape match (mainly because everyone was dissing OSRS in favour of AAA games so I needed to shield it’s honour and rejoin). I began streaming OSRS and when I graduated I decided it’s either’now or never’ took the plunge to go full time. This was 4 years back and I haven’t looked back since – nevertheless it has had it’s fair share of obstacles due to a lot of toxicity and echo chambers at the depths of the internet where some believe girls only game”for the wrong reasons”. It’s been a struggle but one worth the struggle.
I personally always loved to draw and play video games as a youngster and I always knew I needed to do anything. I then found this university where I could study game art and realised I could combine two of my passions and make a career out of it. The course I was quite general and I’d concept artwork, environment artwork, char artwork… Both stylised and realistic. Only by looking all of the options out I found out that I enjoyed making stylised environments. From the end of my studies I’d done 2 distinct internships. After I got a job in Cambridge which unfortunately shut down at the beginning of the summer here for an business. After that I ended up here in Jagex!
I received into content creation from boredom. Just thought I would stick to streaming there and here with friends, now it has turned into a true career. I couldn’t imagine doing anything else! I have made amazing friends, have heard a lot about myself, and more. In terms of challenges/obstacles, I would not say a lot, but there are a few. I get told frequently that I’m only successful because I am a lady, which usually comes from cheap RS gold a man who’s less powerful than me. That is one I had to get used to and learn not to react to.
